Role : Art Director & Designer
Project : Brand & Visual Identity
Juelz is a rising voice in UK grime and Afroswing, the grit of South London streets fused with the warmth of Ghanaian and Nigerian roots. The brief was an identity that carries that duality: cinematic enough for an album cover, disciplined enough to run a full guideline, from a hand-drawn logotype to the landing page, EPK and merch that take it on tour.

Juelz speaks with purpose, no fluff, no filler. The mission was set before the visuals: carry the heartbeat of Ghana and Nigeria into the global scene, from the streets of London to the heart of Accra and Lagos. Every decision answers to one line: Juelz is the sound of now.

The logotype is drawn, not typed: a flowing script built from Snell Roundhand's bones and redrawn until it moves like the music, the diamond tittle a nod to the chain around the artist's neck. It ships in six colourways, a metallic gold-and-silver pair for premium drops, and a "Juelz World" globe as the secondary mark for digital and apparel.

The script leads; the system answers in two voices. Darker Grotesque handles the workmanlike text (tracklists, credits, navigation), while a high-contrast serif steps in for editorial moments, letting one page whisper liner notes and the next shout a tour date.

The palette works like stage lighting. Gold, lilac, green and ember orange sit on deep purple and carry the diamond motif; muted maroon, forest and rose on pale butter take the same voices into print and editorial. Ember gradients underneath keep the heat on.

The identity proves itself where a music brand lives or dies: the artwork. A "Becoming" cover series runs one composition through three colour moods, and editorial spreads set the manifesto: UK grime, Afroswing energy, Ghanaian and Nigerian heritage, more than music, a movement.

Online, the brand opens on a stage: the landing hero puts the gold logotype in concert light above "enter the sound of now", then hands over to a clean scroll for booking, shows and merch. A social kit keeps every post on-brand.

And for the fans it becomes things worth keeping: chenille-script varsity jackets in red and black, an iced-out Juelz pendant, totes and cups in the brand pattern, the logotype earning its keep as an object, not just a file.

An identity that sounds like the artist before a single note plays.
Juelz shipped as a complete guideline: logotype, colour, type, pattern, cover-art direction, landing page, EPK and merch, built in under a month and ready for a release cycle. The system holds one voice from a Spotify thumbnail to a varsity jacket: cinematic gold on heat, discipline underneath. More than music; a movement with a wardrobe.
